What kinds of training and or experience is needed? Yes, it is true. One needs to be educated and skilled to receive model rates. The modeling profession is very competitive and demanding. Therefore, one must have the proper skills necessary to be considered a professional model. A client is not going to pay for just a "pretty" or "handsome" face, they want more. Clients can easily find eager attractive individuals to appear on a billboard, brochure, fashion show for free. So why, should they pay for a model? An agency must prove the reasoning of hiring a professional rather than a good looking amateur. Our biggest selling point is that our models know what to do to sell the product or service; therefore, our clients will feel confident spending the extra money for a professional model. One Exception: Promotional Models might not require training. At Fashion Mystique Modeling, we do not require our promotional models to have modeling school. A promotion model does not utilize specific modeling skills. The most important attribute to a promotional model is a very outgoing personality. A promotional model is hired to demonstrate a product, hand out samples, coupons, etc. An attractive outgoing individual is the perfect candidate. Will a modeling agency pay for the training if they really like me? No, but in some cases an agency will advance the monies until you can pay the agency back from your modeling jobs.
